All these are what you actually wanted, in case you like having dry, warm, & comfortable feet. I have bought these that are based on previous experience with a Danner Pronghorn – Un-insulated. Pair is seriously walked in on a western turkey hunts & public land deer at Illinois. These were bought with gift cards after the Christmas, so my hunting was late season. Leather is very soft, lace system is also good than pronghorn with the larger lace hooks at top. Insulation is very good. My feet were very cold in other pair of an insulated boots and mostly from sole up. These do not seem to share same issue – also they fit well. I expect same quality & durability from these as other Danner shoes I have.”

Outsole” is a term for bottom surface of a boot, what in fact “digs in dirt.” Outsoles come in wide range of materials & tread designs for various terrain conditions. Manufacturers generally develop outsole designs, which are little different from the competitors’. However, most of the outsoles are classified categories: There are many options in the market from where you can choose many different types of shoes.
Gore Tex lining works very well, but soles are now wearing out and I guess I have done 500km in them. I guess soles can last until 800km prior to requiring replacing. Boots have not recovered their looks when scrambling on the Puig Massanella at Mallorca. Leather cut up a lot & no longer has water repellency have, so thank for Gore Tex. For a comparison, I have used Menials for around 150km and they look new.
In terms of caring, they get bath after each walk and after that are left to dry. I’m not fastidious in getting mud off. Wipe round with cloth is good. Once dry then I pour little water on it and if it balls & runs off, fine it is wax time.
In brief, I now take Brashers until I know that there is lots of rock walking, uneven off stuff and heavy load carrying and then extra protection of Meindls is priceless.

How Gore-tex Clothing Keeps you Dry
Construction of Gore-Tex Fabrics
These waterproof fabrics are constructed by laminating a special membrane layer to other high performance textiles. Then they are sealed with an innovative solution.
The Gore-Tex Membrane
This is the layer of fabric that really creates the waterproof barrier. For every square inch of membrane fabric there are over nine billion microscopic pores. You would think having that many small holes would be bad for waterproofing, but each pore is 20,000 times smaller than a drop of water. So there is no way that water is getting through this layer.
This membrane remains breathable though as each microscopic pore is 700 times larger than a water vapor molecule. This allows perspiration to evaporate from the inside of your Gore-Tex clothing. You won’t be uncomfortably warm just so that you can stay dry. This is a must for any active people.
There is also an oleophobic (lacking affinity for oils) substance that is integrated into the Gore-Tex membrane. This prevents body oils and insect repellent from penetrating the membrane. If these oils were to penetrate the membrane, they could clog up the pores and prevent breathability.
Gore-Tex Laminates
The Gore-Tex membrane is bonded between high performance fabrics which are highly breathable. Depending upon the application, different outer fabrics are used. Different outer fabrics have different advantages such as weight, texture and abrasion resistance.
Seam Sealing
Many jacket manufacturers overlook the vulnerability of seams and stitching. These small holes could be the perfect spot for water to leak in. That is why Gore-Tex garments completely seal seams and needle holes. They use unique Gore-Seam Tape for absolute waterproofness and liquid resistance.

Waking early, I got dressed and hopped on my V-Rod® Muscle and headed to Adventure H-D. Upon arrival I was greeted by Jeff, Matt, Lori. Yea, all the Adventure gang was up and at it this morning. They all know me there since it is my favorite hangout. I saw Carolyn from MotorClothes® and anxiously said,"Hey, I desparately need some Rain Gear!"

Flossing Your Teeth—good Dental Hygiene
Those are just a few of the statements I have heard about dental flossing. I can assure you none of these statements are true. In fact, as we examine these statements, you will be able to better understand how these negative statements can promote poor dental care. That is what needs to change.
Let’s take a look at the first statement, “flossing takes too long.” I would ask how long does it take to drive to the dentist, sit in the waiting room, sit in the dentist chair and drive back home after the work is completed? The loss of a few seconds each day will more than pay off in long term benefits. I have timed myself and I know that I am rather slow, but I can still completely floss my teeth in one minute and five seconds.
What about the floss breaking. Does it happen? Of course. But you can minimize the breaks by using the newer Gore-Tex type floss. Glide is one of the brands. The fibers are stronger. They resist cutting and breaking which makes your flossing experience much more pleasant.
One of the major complaints of many people is that the floss is difficult to slide between close teeth. The Gore-Tex type floss is not only strong, but very slick. It slides between your teeth much smoother with little hanging or tearing of the floss.
Another complaint heard occasionally is, “the floss hurts my gums.” This is usually heard from someone who has not flossed for quite a while and their gums are tender. Proper flossing will clean your teeth and strengthen your gums. It really does help your teeth and gums.
If you haven’t flossed for a while use these six simple steps.
1) Use Gore-Tex type floss.
2) Tear off between 16 to 20 inches of floss.
3) Slide it gently between your teeth, allowing it to conform to the shape of your tooth.
4) Slide the floss up and down your tooth.
5) Follow this procedure between each set of teeth.
6) Don’t forget to floss both sides of your back teeth.
Sometimes there may be food that is difficult to remove from between your teeth. This usually happens between teeth that are too far apart. You can tie a knot in your floss and gently drag it between your teeth. The knot will pick up the material and pull it out from between your teeth. The point is to be very gentle. You do not want to damage your gums doing this.
Flossing daily combined with brushing twice a day will help insure your dental health and well being.
